I was going through photos of my collections through the years.
Looking at them brings so many memories relating to my life at the time. Most of these cards are now in the hands of other collectors who are making their own memories. It was time to move on. I've found myself evolving as a collector, looking at other non mainstream sports related memorabilia. Recently finding my way to the Net54 boards where I'm learning a lot about collections I never knew existed. This hobby never gets old, there is always something to learn and something to collect. ![]() ![]() Part of my mid grade '51 Bowman set. ![]() |

Nice pics...and that is a nice looking Mantle graded a "2". If your interest are changing - how has your collecting interests changed? What specifically are you concentrating in now?
As for me, I've found I am much less interested in collecting autographed baseballs since forgeries became so prevalent. I am content to let my unauthenticated examples sit in a dry, dark box. Z Wheat |

Thanks for the comments and welcoming.
I'm finding myself wanting to collect rarer items that do not surface often. Not so much cardboard anymore. Collecting tickets intrigues me very much. Also early 1900's official national league Spalding and American league Reach baseballs. I no longer drool at stuff on eBay, rather stuff in auction catalogs. Not to say I can spend a whole lot, just prefer the historical rarer pieces. I am starting to get that most of Net54 members have evolved into this type of genre in collecting. Zach I assume you collect vintage era player autograph's? How careful should I be or expect with a Clemente auto that's already certified by PSA? I'm trying to figure out just how rare his auto's are as the prices seem to be all over the place. Last edited by Drift; 03-04-2014 at 11:39 PM. |

You're obviously posting in every single thread to get your post count up, but here's a request. Why don't you add something, ANYTHING, to the threads your posting in instead of bumping them with two word, empty comments!!!!!!!!

That is an absolutely stunning 1952 Topps Mick you have/had there. The 51 is great too. Even the raw cards have great eye appeal!
Thanks for sharing. |
