FS - NOW on EBAY!! c1910 Notebook w/ Mathewson (front) & Walter Johnson (back)
Up for sale is the following c1910s "Play Ball" Notebook w/ HOF pitchers Christy Mathewson on the front cover and Walter Johnson on the back cover.
Asking: $XXX The notebook has the child's name written on the front in the designated area in pencil. Interior pages have writing as well (as one might expect). Obvious flaws can be seen in the scans below, including paper loss and the big gash in the right of the notebook, penetrating several notebook pages. The back image (w/ Johnson) has some paper loss and a slight tear in the bottom right, but is definitely more presentable than the front cover (w/ Mathewson). There is a date of 9/3/1910 written in the notebook, but it's unclear whether that was the date written or the student's birthday. Regardless, this notebook is a rare find and a must-have for any serious Christy Mathewson or Walter Johnson collectors. How many of these have you seen? I've only seen one other, which sold for ~$600. Paypal "gift/friend" preferred. I'll take care of all shipping charges.
