Default Ebay.....

How does this even look real? I would normally feel bad for the buyer, but come on...

Over 8 days to go, waz. You must be upset at the OP for outing this auction. You're not going to be able to steal this Cobb now.

Good grief, there are already 4 bidders.

Has anyone contacted the seller? If so and he told you to piss off, has anyone contacted Ebay?

Brendan - it's a fake. The original poster wasn't sure, so he probably shouldn't have outed it, but in the end, we have the right result - all of you now know not to bid any further.

Default Ebay.....

Come on now...it wasn't that hard to tell Brendan was using sarcasm...was it? It's easily a fake and the OP did the right thing by bringing it up IMO

Definitely sarcasm. I'm about 35 cards away from competing this set. I would hope that I can spot a fake by now. Haha.

They pulled it. Good looking out by the OP.

Thanks, I am pretty surprised that he removed it because of the high bids, but at least there are some honest people on ebay!

Was Wazoo using 'sarcasm' as well?

Sorry I missed it, but I've seen more than a few board members who were fooled by ebay reprints. Nothing wrong with that. I'm sure there are plenty of collectibles that I would be fooled on as well.

Sorry Scott if it seemed like I was being a prick about if it was sarcasm or not, but yeah, wazoo's was definitely sarcasm as well. I guess because it was an obvious reprint, I took people's comments as they knew it was an obvious reprint too.

You were definitely not in the wrong to post as you did. To be sure, people should probably use the emoticons to help others be aware of their intentions if it's not obvious.

Okay, I should have given you all more credit, and caught the sarcasm. Sorry about that.

To quote the classic Tommy Boy:

Gas Station Employee: I'm picking up your sarcasm.
Richard: Well, I should hope so, because I'm laying it on pret-ty thick.

If it were a good fake I would have thought a T206 collector could be fooled. This 2 bit fake was really bad....

The funny thing is, I have never seen a good T206 fake; in fact, I can't remember a good fake of any T-card. Despite this, board members get fooled often enough. The only question I ever have about T206's is whether or not they have been altered.

It baffles me, because it really wouldn't be hard to create a fake T206 that would look good in a scan, but I haven't seen any.
