MEET THE YANKEES IV 100) TOM "PETE" DALEY 1930 YANKEES ROAD ACCOUNT CHECK Made out to Pete Daley by Yankees road secretary MARK ROTH. Dated April 19th, 1930 signed by Roth on the front and endorsed in pencil by Daley on the reverse. Check measures aprox 3x7. This is the ONLY autograph of Daley I have ever seen offered for sale. Extremely rare autograph ! comes with an unsigned 8x10 photo of Daley for display. Played for the 1908 Reds, 1913-14 Athletics and 1914-1915 Yankees. After his baseball career he assisted as Yankees baggage handler on road trips which is when this check was signed , He died in 1934. $1,950.00 102) BILL PIERCY Vintage album page measure aprox 6x4 signed boldly in fountain pen. Comes with an unsigned 8x10 photo of Piercy in Yankees uniform for display. Best remembered for helping the 1921 Yankees win their first pennant , he also pitched for 1917 Yankees, 1922-1924 Red Sox and the 1926 Cubs. He died in 1951. $650.00 106) HOWIE CAMP vintage 3x5 signed in fountain pen originates from the collection of baseball historian Karl Wingler. Comes with an unsigned 8x10 photo for display. RARE autograph played only one major league season in 1917 for the Yankees. He died in 1960 $950.00 108) FRANK "PING" BODIE Vintage 3x5 signed in fountain pen. Originates from the collection of baseball historian Karl Wingler. One of the most feared sluggers of the dead ball era. Comes with an unsigned 8x10 photo in Yankees uniform for display. Played for the 1911-14 White Sox, 1917 Athletics, 1919-21 Yankees including their 1st pennant winning team in 1921. Schang was considered to be one of the greatest defensive catchers of his day. Playing for the 1913-1917 Athletics, 1918-1920 Red Sox, 1921-25 Yankees, 1921-29 Browns and 1931 Tigers he died in 1965. $250.00 112) NORM McMILLAN 3X5 signed on the lined side. He died in 1969. $175.00 113) HARRY NILES 3x5 portion of an envelope postmark dated 12/15/1948. Originates from the Walter Danahy collection. Comes with an unsigned photo of Niles for display. Niles was the batter who broke up Cy Young's bid for a perfect game. He played for the 1906-07 Browns, 1908 Yankees, 1908-1910 Red Sox and 1910 Cleveland Naps. He died in 1953. $350.00 114) ED BARNEY His original Social Security card measures 3 1/4 x 1 3/4. Signed boldly. A fine signature of a tough to find player ! Later managed Cleveland and KC.
