This auction is different from anything you have seen before (Surprised?)
ALL PIZZA HAS BEEN DELIVERED. Yes, this could be the first ever EXTENDED BIDDING period offered on BST. ![]() Current bidders were given fair warning and no one cried "Foul". You need not have placed a prior bid (like the hoity toity auction houses) to join in the fun of extended bidding. The pizza will be delivered promptly at 9:00:00 this evening, but unlike Dominoes there is no 30 minute guarantee. If you do not get your slice in a week, let me know. ![]() The Auction consists of 6 slices (Lots). 1 slice has been sold. The price of the remaining pizza is $95.00. You may buy the entire pizza or what remains at any time. The slices are priced individually, but those prices are not disclosed until a bid exceeds the price. The total price of the individual lots is $100.00 When a bid for a slice exceeds the hidden asking price, you win the slice for my asking price only. Therefore if you want Slice #2 and bid $10,000 several things happen 1. You win that slice for the asking price plus actual shipping ($2/slice or $7/slice in Canada) 2. The total price of the remaining slices is reduced in this post by the price of the sold slice. Additional Rules 3. You may bid on any number of slices individually or as a group. 4. If you win multiple slices or the whole pizza, only actual shipping costs will apply. 5. Any form of payment is accepted. Add 3% for regular Paypal though 6. All of the hidden slice prices are less than the most recent comparable sales on Ebay. 7. Slices with bids less than the hidden asking price will be sold to the highest bidder with actual shipping charges added at the conclusion of the auction on 11/1. 8. Opening bids on individual slices of $2 with $2 increments are requested. An opening bid on the whole pizza cannot be made as that price will change as slices are sold. 9. I will eat the unsold slices in exactly one week at 9PM central time on Friday November 1st, after completion of a 12 hour period of extended bidding (Rule 10) 10. It has come to my attention that ending the Pizza Auction at 9AM CDT on Friday presents a hardship for slackers on the West Coast who would have to get up before 7 AM to place their final bids. I also hesitate to make a structural change in an auction in progress. However, the notation below authorizes editing and amendments. Therefore, on Friday at 9 AM, the Pizza auction will enter a period of EXTENDED BIDDING for twelve(12) hours. If you are worried about getting outbid during the EXTENDED BIDDING phase of the auction, please remember that the slice prices are reasonable and a high bid does not affect what you will pay. If you want that slice, you can buy that slice. Period. ![]() If there are questions about the format and additional clarification of the rules is necessary, this post may be edited or amended. Here are the slices with scans below: Slice #1 - MAN UP to celebrate Peyton Manning's record breaking season and career I am offering a 1998 Playoff Contender Leather Rookie Card in Mint Condition BGS 9 - Currently at $10 Slice #2 - SAY HEY - A 1968 Topps Game card of Willie Mays in EXMT condition BVG 6 - Currently at $7 Slice #3 - ALKALINE (not ACID) - 1959 Topps Al Kaline #463 - Thrill Card in NM-MT condition BVG 8 - Currently at $13 Slice #4 - LEWIS (without CLARK) - 1948 Bowman Basketball card #4 of Freddy Lewis in EX+ condition BVG 5.5 - Currently at $16 Slice #5 - PUCKERONI - Two mint Hockey stars of yore. 1982-83 OPC Marcel Dionne #149 and 1978 Topps Brad Park #79 both graded SGC 96 - SOLD for $5 (If anyone is interested in complete sets of these years meet me in the parking lot with your checkbook ![]() Slice #6 - PESKY'S POLE & PUJOLS - Exhibit card of Johnny Pesky (loved) and Albert Pujols (pristine). $5 wins slice #5.
The price of the remaining slices has been reduced to $95. Congratulation to Steve. I will be in touch regarding shipping unless you plan to bid on other slices. As a further note if this format works for all of you and me, I plan to follow with another Pizza Auction with higher valued slices. Carry on.

Not really
Unbeknownst to me, apparently the Mays exhibit previously listed in Slice #6 is infact a reprint. The bidder on this lot was allowed to retract his bid by the benevolent auctioneer. The Mays card was replaced in Slice #6 by a Gem Mint 2005 Topps Heritage card of Albert Pujols, who probably wishes he was still in St. Louis at this point. The undisclosed hidden price for Slice #6 is unchanged with this substitution and the total price for the remaining five slices remains $95. Remember if you are really hungry and want a slice, you need not worry about bidding too much. A $15 slice is $15 whether your bid is $15 or $15,000. Let's set some records for maximum bids in the Live Auction section as they are totally without consequence, except that you get the item you want for a reasonable price. I do apologize for the original Slice #6 listing and had no intent to deceive.
