Paypal gift getting people banned?
I saw a posting on facebook that people are being banned by paypal for using the gift option of payment when sent to the same person in a short period of time. The people mentioned were using facebook to raffle cards, but would we not be next?

You dont' get banned from paypal. They just prevent you from receiving gift money and charge a fee for all sales.
We were accepting over $10k a month in "gift" payments a month and got busted for it.... As long as you keep it under a reasonable limit I bet there won't be a problem.

Thanks guys I think it probably had mostly to do with the fact they do not support raffles. I do not partake in the raffles. I would rather pay full price for a card than throw away money at the chance of a card.

I tried to send 5.2k recently and the system wouldn't let me. So, I sent 2600 as gift and 2600 as an e-check and still didn't get hit with fees. It worked. While I used to be against sending gift payments I am not anymore. It's a different product with less assurances. I have no problem with it now.
