Hey All! soaked some cards. here are the results;
T201 - Had a glued on black paper on the bottom of the front. Before pictures are on the left and after pictures on the right. Got all of the paper off, minor paper loss spot where the black paper was. I think I used too much bleach. I think they lost a little color. T206 - Pirates Cards. The Leifield was fun to see what was behind the paper on the back! Dont know what is on the Willis, doesnt look like it is coming off whatever it is! I had each card in a small plastic container filled with warm water. I added a drop or clorox and a drop of dawn dish soap to each container. they dont have any odor other than old cardboard. I dont think I will use the clorox next time!

to hear clorox used in soaking. Trying to bleach a stain perhaps - even that is a bad idea - but facilitate glue removal - unusual.............

From where I'm sitting, it appears that the crop line on the back of the Willis disappeared after the bleaching.

I think the bleach may continue to work on the cards. I have soaked a skull before in a dilute solution of bleach. After a few years it became very brittle and crumbly. Maybe hydrogen peroxide would be a better choice.
