Default 1890 Columbus Solons cabinet

Due to numerous requests (actually, only one) here are the photo identifications for this 1890 Columbus Solons (American Association) cabinet I picked up at the National from Glenn Mechanick. (Thanks, Glenn.)

Bott Bros. was a rather lavish billiard parlor in Columbus.

Nicholl, McTamany, Johnson, Sneed
Ford, Widner, Buckenberger, Gastright, Mays, Easton
Bligh, O'Connor, Doyle, Munyan, Easterday
Lahane, Crook(s), Reilly

Eleven players, including Henry Easterday, Al Buckenberger (mgr.), Al Mays, Hank Gastright, Jim McTamany, Sam Nichols, Jack Crook(s), Rowdy Jack O’Connor, Ned Bligh, Spud Johnson, & Charley Reilly all appear on N172 cards.

I've seen three versions of this card, some with names, some without, and all with the heads in different order. There are probably more. Three players listed on the roster are not pictured on the cabinet. They include Ice Box Chamberlain and Bobby Wheelock (who are both in N172) & Frank Knauss, who is not. Buckenberger was fired mid-season, one of three managers that year. The leading hitters were O'Connor and Johnson. The top pitchers were Gastright (30-14, 2.94 ERA), Chamberlain and Knauss. The team finished in 2nd place, going 79-55, but finishing 10 games behind Louisville. Buckenberger went 39-41 so things improved dramatically after he was given the hook.
