Default OverPrints

Kevin,

To the best of my knowledge I believe the overprints are accounted for in the 14 known Brown Old Mills because they also have Brown Old Mill backs, but have the additional factory overprint.

Below are scans of the Greminger single overprint contained in the 2010 REA auction:

Below is back scan of a double overprint that I found in a book about baseball cards:

Either Jim or Tim can verify that they are accounted for in the Brown Old Mill population.

First let me say that The Mysteries of T206 is a great resource. We have gained some knowledge since it was printed.

The Old Mill BBS only has a black back. The Old Mill southern league has a black and a brown. Above it lists Old Mill BBS with a brown back and as far as I know there is no brown BBS back, brown only comes on the south Old Mill.

The Old Mill with one red bar to date has only been found on one card, the Greminger and the back ad is brown. The Old Mill with two red bars has only been found on one card, the Foster(I believe) and the back ad is brown.

We don't count Old Mill as five backs. We only count three.

Old Mill BBS black -found on major and minor leaguers
Old Mill south black- found on the 48 southern leaguers
Old Mill south brown- found on the 34 southern leaguers that also have brown Hindu.

John shows a good side by side brown & black Old Mill in the other thread on the main page.

Have any brown Old Mills been found with factory berries?
