I'm not familiar with the set, roughly what size would this be.
Amazing piece.

There are a handful of those advertising pieces in the hobby, and they are truly amazing. That one looks like it has at least one HOFer- Connor- and if my eyes were better I might see a few more.
And if I took even a minute to read it I would see that the HOFers are listed. Last edited by barrysloate; 07-01-2013 at 03:16 PM. |

I believe this Gillespie is cut from this type of poster. It is the approximate size of an n172.

Old Judges cut from the poster typically have very thick mounts, perhaps double the thickness of a regular card.

Sure, for 23/24ths of the price. I knew I've been saving up money all these years for something good...

I'll kick in another 22/24ths for the Pud card. Let me know if we're starting a bidding group.

Definitely. I can't believe in 126 years, that poster hasn't been in the hands of someone who wasn't so lazy that they couldn't pick up a pair of scissors and a ruler and cut that thing up. Making someone else do their work...typical lazy 19th century New Yorkers

Yep, another missed opportunity for a somewhat ambitious 19th century New Yorker. A midwesterner would have cut that thing to pieces years ago.

but isn't this an imperial or larger "cabinet style" photograph montage on mount and NOT a poster? I have a couple of similar ones for non-sport brands. Also I recall seeing copies of a similar mounted cabinet with the same 2 "binder"(?) holes which I always thought came from such a mount. I've heard there are some OJ experts on this here board what's in the know. Bob did call it a poster more than once Not the first time I'd be dead wrong.............

Henry--it's an advertising piece. An uncut sheet glued to a thick cardboard mount with advertising around the perimeter.
