EARL AVERILL 4-in-1 Exhibit (Cut down to individual card), and by the markings, this was once part of the famous BUCK BARKER collection, a pioneer in the sports card hobby. Buck had a system of writing down notes on cards and according to a few people I've shown this to, they agree this appears to be Buck's handwriting. It mentions: "13 - 1929-1941 318 R-L" meaning he played 13 years from 1929 to 1941 with a lifetime B.A. of .318, and I assume means he threw Right handed and batted Left handed. The back is blank.
Bidding starts at $10 for this HOF card owned by a HOF collector, increments of $1, and shipping is free. Auction ends Wednesday, March 27th, at 8 PM CST. |
