I'm probably not telling you anything that you don't already know, but a frame shop can make any size frame that you want.

I bought this both new and framed and not prohibitively expensive.
Obviously a custom job, but interesting. 1 sheet framed with glass on both sides, ideal for hanging in the middle of a sports bar with high ceilings or in a home with a great room with cathedral ceilings, which I have. Unfortunately my wife wont let me hang it in the living/dining/kitchen=great room and it resides in a stairwell where virtually no one sees it, not even the sun. I flip it over every few years to look at the other side. I realize 1989 Upper Deck Baseball is not vintage, but it is the first product they ever produced, a real chunk of baseball card history that even includes the RaJo rookie card. With color images on both sides this issue may be the first to lend itself to this type of display. Photos in the second, fourth, sixth, eighth and tenth rows were actually taken with the camera held upside down. ![]() Glass on both sides ...... something to think about, at least for a moment.

Nice job Frank! Did a local frame store do the framing or did you order it from somewhere online? I'm also looking for frames big enough to fit a matted full 132 card sheet.
I had a few items framed locally earlier this year, unfortunately the jacknuts dropped a photo corner right on top of one of the sheets, and it took the restorer 4 months to have it removed. No damage and no restoration, but I'd rather frame the other sheets I have myself from frames ordered online. This place will cut custom mattes- I've never used them but a few friends have and say they are really good and very reasonable. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Griffins; 10-08-2012 at 03:16 PM. The seller had multiple sheets removed from a dumpster in the San Fernando Valley on the sly. Don't tell anyone. He worked with a framer somewhere in the Los Angeles area (there are many framers out there). The sheets could be purchased without frames, with glass on one side and with the double glass version as shown. I thought the price bump for framing was very reasonable at the time, but I did not have anything to do with it per se, except to pick the one I wanted.

I have some uncut sheets that fit perfectly in a "top loader" made for the size of uncut sheets. I am talking Topps size sheets that have 128 cards (or whatever their standard size is). These are great for display purposes and you wont have to spend huge bucks for glass and frames.
Here is a link to some smaller size uncut sheet top loaders but the full size Topps sheet holders are available too. http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products/...oad-holder.htm |
