I just bought this T205, T206 and T207 collage. Does this smell fishy, or was this a steal?

Nice pickup. I don't know if you got a steal but I think you did good. It looks like the cards are not coming off that thing, so it's all in the value of the display piece itself. I think it looks great and would be awesome on the wall.
Thanks, AndyH .

It's a decorative piece and for that, it depends on who's buying if it's worth that. Seems interesting enough that $500 makes sense. SInce the whole thing is shellacked or polyurethane, I personally wouldn't attempt to remove them from the wood. Especially since the urethane will remain even if you did remove them.

Nice folk art feel to it.

If I somehow were able to remove the cards, do you SGC or PSA would even grade the cards as authentic? I'm just glad that so far no one has said that they're all reprints!

I like it...for the money not a bad deal...but as jason suggested...i would not try to remove the cards...the whole is worth more than the sum of it's parts.
The cards may be too thick to holster? |

I wouldn't try to remove them. The value probably won't exceed the intact value. It being a neat display piece as is. I also think the TPGs will grade the cards if they are removed, unless they are extremely damaged upon removal. (not just back damage but torn in half and stuff like that). good luck

Pretty nice, and probably best left as-is.
If it's from the decoupage fad of the 70's it's an interesting bit of folk art/craft history anyway. If it's polyurethane, and it probably is it's not coming off easily, if at all. if it's shellack, then it would come off with some careful work. But then you're left with the problem of what sort of glue was used. And most of the modern choices won't come off easily. Most of the cards probably wouldn't grade much above a 1, so I don't see much point in spending hours removing them. Steve B |

The T205 Bresnahan "mouth open" variation would be the best of the 05's.

Really... I would make a Tray~Table out of it. Couldn't damage the cards and You'd be able to use it when needed. Hanging it on the wall doesn't seem like a good idea to me, looks to heavy... but what do I know?
Mr Costas is weird looking today... Creepy

Cool item, and I think a table is a great idea. Here's what we did with a fairly poor conditioned c. 1915 Red Sox pennant
(don't worry, it's simply place under glass, not laminated) ![]()

I had a feeling that Spencer didn't like us saying that it didn't make sense to remove the cards.
