I don't really know these wrappers that well and I'm pretty new to sports cards/memrobilia in general. I recently purchased this wrapper and it looked like a great deal. Dan Mckee contacted me a few days back to inform me that it is a reproduction. Though Dan seems like a credible source I would like to get a few more expert opinions before I write this off as a fake. What do you think? Is there anything in particular to look for on these wrappers?

Search on Ruth candy wrapper. There's been a lot of discussion about these in the past.

As the above thread says, if the "H" in George H Ruth is not fully visible, like in the above wrapper, then it is a reproduction.

Dan was right. He knows a right smart about old cards.

Thanks for pointing me to that thread. Amazing work by everyone who contributed. Luckily the seller who I purchased this from has stepped up to the plate and agreed to refund the purchase.
Thanks Dan for bring this to light. The last thing I want to do is proliferate fakes! |
