Well, someone typed 'F.S.' on the back of this one - who's to say it wasn't someone named 'F. Scott' ?

I own one and have shown it before (and right now I don't have access to any of my scans). It's a Sweet Cap 350 Bill Lattimore and is graded SGC10. I wonder if enough of us that own one might not beseech SGC to consider adding the line "From the F. Scott Fitzgerald Collection" to the flip. There is enough documentation to prove the lineage of the cards, they are acknowledged to have once been the property of a young Fitzgerald, and while a few still occasionally turn up, I would think most have been accounted for. There must be some kind of test (black light?) to determine the age of the ink used to stamp the "F" on the cards, which would preclude forgeries and make it easy enough on SGC to determine if the card was part of Scott's collection and legitimately deserves the ID line I mentioned above. If we can put the names of famous card collectors who once owned the cards on the flips, why not the name of a famous novelist who can be a proven past owner as well?
Maybe if we all identify each other as owning one of the cards, we can ask SGC, as a group to consider this. I never intend to sell the card; the flip would be for my own joy and happiness. What do you say? Should we give it a try. Ray |

RAY!
I love that Idea!! absolutely agree.....i just had mine graded at sgc......they don't label them as such yet, but i was hoping by some slim chance they would.....my card is a blazer!!!i love it!! i missed a few in the past and when i scored the ewing was really cool....nice clear stamp also.. I would say f scotty definetly would be great to see on the flip.ABSOLUTELY AGREE. BTW this sounds crazy....but one day i always dreamed my error collection t206 would be big enough to one day have my name on the flip... "Johnny V FREAK COLLECTION" ![]() |

What's the proof that he owned these? I'm not hip to the history on these so I'm just asking out of curiosity.

Jay,
from my understanding , and please correct me or jump in other collectors, f scott collected many ball cards as a teenager around 1910 or so....was a passion.....he grew up around midwest and apparently alot were epdg were distributed in that area....he stamped most of them with that iconic "F" ......among other ball cards.... his items were auctioned off in the 50's by his daughter after he died, type writters, desks, among other items were 1000 ball cards from his youth.....alot of t206....most stamped with that "f" his cards pop up every now and then and can be identified by that "f" in black ink stamped on alot of t206....iv seen more epdg than the others, but i have seen sweet caps, piedy ect....they dont pop up often, and im afraid some "a" hole will try to start stamping epdg backs with the "f" in the future, thats why i grabbed one now and had it slabbed at this present time......they fly under the radar and collectors just arent aware of who actually owned them, just figure its another stamped t206....but these have a true provenance...and before they too go nuts one day in price i picked mine up in the $170.00 range.....which i feel is a bargain for sure....i wouldnt sell it anyway like any of my cards i have a sickness ![]() picture f scotty as a youth admiring the cards we admire today ![]() so, show some ![]() |

Here's one I picked up back in the early 1980s. I didn't know the provenance at the time:

How do you suppose Zelda signed her cards, presuming that she collected any? (For that matter what kind of card might attract her?) The first convincing "Z" on the reverse of anything should receive a genuine reproduction of a copy of a Disney Guy Williams card, preferably as he slashes his way around old Los Angeles.
