Nice one of the Cubs' catcher... he's a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.

I'm a big fan of Hub. My Fatima card of him isn't as nice as the one you have, Jeremy. His old family home is in Sumner Co., probably 15 to 20 miles from you, Jeremy; but I reckon you probably already know that. He was the County Clerk there for a few terms.

Of these 3, I like the Ed Reulbach card the best. The Brooklyn Feds let him pitch when the National and American Leagues wouldn't; he was held back by owners and wound up in the Federal League because he was a founding member and secretary for the Baseball Players' Fraternity. But for that I think he'd have posted career numbers that would have gotten him into the Hall several years ago... He won the last Federal League game played.

Yes, Sir. A similar fold. I spoke with a fellow who collected these as a kid. He went to college about 1929 or so, and one semester when he returned home he discovered that his mother had thrown his cards away. He said he had about 300 or so of them. He said he had other baseball cards from the time, but the ones he liked the most and had the most of were the Fatima cards. I didn't have the heart to tell him what they would have sold for if he still had them.

I think that an answer to your question about whether anyone else collects these... it seems to me from the few posts and the low number of thread views, that hardly any of the Net54 folks care or collect them.

And I concur with your recollection about Bill Cornell. He knows a right smart about 'em. I think he has a Henry card, which I think is the scarcest of the bunch. I'd like to have an opportunity to buy a worn, affordable card of Lelivelt. But his card is one of the tough ones, too.

Nice cards guys...I know nothing about these cards but am very interested in acquiring specimens of the new York American players...these cards seem somewhat scarce...are they tough to come by?

I have a soft spot in my heart when I see these cards in both High grades (4.5+) and/or with a super nice image. LOVE that Grover Alexander.

I've owned about 10 of these in bad shape for years. Some track players I sold years ago had turned white in places. Anyone see that?
