fairly easy question:
I'm looking to take advantage of the "Wild Card" special that SGC has going on right now...and I know that SGC has a list of cards that require custom inserts and also have different grading scales for "oversized cards". I did call SGC on Friday and confimed that 1920's Exhibits are eligible for the "Wild Card" special. Does anyone know if 1928 R315, 1929 Kashin R316, and/or 1937 Goudey "Wide Pen" Premiums would be eligible? In other words, these aren't considered "oversized" or "custom insterts", are they? Thanks in advance, Derek

Derek,
Those issues would be considered standard sized and custom inserts don't come into play. T3s and B18s are the items I've paid for that are oversized. Postcard sized issues fall under standard issue, which is really nice! Best, Andy Last edited by AndyG09; 12-18-2011 at 10:02 AM. |

I have a group sent in on the wild card special now and may send in another 10. But here is my question - when is the last time they had a cross over special? Or maybe I should just cracking them out of there PSA holder and sending them in now.

About 1/3 of my recent submission using the Wild Card special includes PSA slabs that I want in Sgc holders. They dont charge extra to crossover, so while it might be a cool idea to grab a little market share one of these upcoming months, I think the tier pricing itself is a bit more important than strictly running a crossover special.
(6 bucks to grade any card up to $250 value is a nice price, I think) I've always included my cards intact in the PSA slab. I know you can request a minimum grade, but my are already rather low so I dont usually worry about that ![]()

The beauty of SGC compared to PSA is that you can mix submissions and have them ship the entire thing back to you at once if you request it. Obviously, your order would default to the time for the longest submission. However, if you wanted, you could have a 1 business day turnaround, a crossover, a reholder, an oversized custom, mixed in with 10 wild card specials, and have that shipped back to you all at the same time with just one return postage fee. You save tons of money this way compared to PSA where each size and submission type need to have different return postages. And the current wildcard special at $6/card is the best I've seen in the last couple of years. This special usually comes around only once or twice a year, so I'd jump on it if you have cards to submit to SGC.
