Sorry to repost what was posted just down below but I think this title might actually draw some more replies. Kind of sad, no matter what you think

No surprise here. Did we all really have a great deal of faith in the validity of game-used inserts? This is an interesting hobby.

No surprise to me. I hope they throw the book at them. And who said there is no oversight? Kudos to the FBI and Postal Inspector again!!

Interesting. I know of a few of those people.
I don't collect game used, but follow it out of general interest. Essentially the same goes for autographs. Last edited by drc; 10-25-2011 at 09:47 PM. |

Michael O Keefe has a big story in the NY Daily News today about this bust.
This sure says a lot about the due diligence of the card companies that bought these uniforms. Now hundreds if not thousands of collectors are now holding a worthless piece of cloth that is attached to a baseball card.

Personally I never really figured a 1/2 inch square of cloth was worth anything in the first place.
Now to see if people actually care that the tiny bit of cloth is really game used or if it's more about the picture and serial number. On the plus side it means fewer actual game used items were cut up ![]() Steve B |
