This is advertising scorecard from San Antonio TX that has a picture of Cobb batting. It is scored and looks to be the Philly A's verus San Antonio Bronchos. I know Philly was in San Antonio in 1912 & 13 for spring training. A estimate would be nice also.

I thought it was interesting that Bender was noted as pitching for San Antonio on your card so I did a little more digging and the game was played on March 19, 1912. The run totals in the below article and on the card match up exactly by inning except the article failed to note a run in the second inning for Philadelphia but the runs total is correct.

Nice looking scorecard. An item like that could be all over the place value wise because you just don't see them everyday...I'd say $200 minimum.

Cool freaking beans Bravefan. Thanks for the link. I wonder what this thing would bring. I have a good idea but always like other opinions.

Didn't Turner (asoriano) just sell a very similar on the BST? I can't remember if his was scored.

Turner's was slightly different and unscored, but very much in the same ballpark as this scorecard. He was asking $400 for it, but it was never marked as sold, so not sure if he ever sold it or not.

Thanks. It is marked sold now above his description and in his title. Still not sure though.
I have found 5 different versions of these so far. 2 1912's. Mine with Cobb another 1912 with Wagner Batting. A 1915 version with Cobb batting with a different Caption that my 1912 version and a 1916 version with a small Pic of Babe Ruth and a larger pic of Johnson Pitching. I think I saw another mentioned on here that was a Wganer 1912 and was in rough shape. Any Others out there. Surely there are more greats either pitching or batting on some versions. And I wonder how many are scored. Last edited by Minerscoin; 08-02-2011 at 09:45 AM. |
