All,
This site has been a wealth of knowledge on T210s. It is very impressive how much some of you know about these cards as well as the players. Long story short, when my grandfather passed away he did not leave much behind for my grandma. What he did leave was all of his baseball cards, a lot of which were his father's. My grandma has been living off Social Security and Baseball cards, mostly T206s and T205s. My grandmother needs some more money, so I am helping her out by selling her T210s for her. The struggle I am having is how to sell them. All I know is that I want get them graded. Is it worth the $600-$750 investment? I have 75 total. 72 are Series 3. That is 72 of 95. Do I sell them as a "Near Set" or should I sell them individually? ![]() Thanks, Dan P.S. I'll try and post some pics. |

There have been a lot of these on the market as a whole lately as a massive collection was sold off in one of the big auctions.
I would not blindly grade all of them as some are really beat up. I also don't know a ton about the rarity of certain players so that would certianly be worth it assuming there are some better ones. You could always save the grading price them and offer them for sale here first. Otherwise I would grade the nicest cards, while your waiting for those to come back sell off the worst condition and then you might get a better feel for what to do with the cards in the middle. Hi Dan
I would probably sell them singly and, with the nice but fairly average grade they are in, don't think I would get them slabbed. As I told someone yesterday, it's an easy decision, if the slabbing nets you more than you pay, go for it. ... Good luck with the sale. regards ps..I should add that if you think any will grade a 4, or better, then it might be worth it to get those graded.

Very nice cards. Agree with the consensus that splitting and selling individually will probably net the greatest $$ amt.
Separately, I send you a PM regarding one of the cards. Best of Luck, SGL |

I would sell them individually on Ebay and get the nicest ones graded by PSA or SGC. If you have any Orange Series 3's, you need to "sell" them on ebay as Orange border (Not red border).
My 2 Cents - Congrats on a nice bunch of cards -

The card in the middle is the only one I have that is not bright red. Is it a "Orange border"? It is a Waco Player, so that part fits. Thanks - Dan

Robert,
I agree with you. I think it is just faded. Thanks for the pic to compare. |

I concur - The Waco card is faded... (not an OB)

PSA has a special deal once every few months for $5 per card. Take advantage of that price to get them graded.

You won't have to think about if a T210 is an orange border or not, when it is one. They do come in varying shades too. Here are a few...

I can tell you from experience, don't sell as a set or lot. Sell them individually, you'll get the best prices! It's easier to consign and let someone else do the work but if you are willing to make scans and do the ebay work, that's the way to go. As far as graded v. ungraded, I think this is one of those sets where you are fine selling them raw. It is a huge set and nice looking cards will sell for a lot even if not graded. A great looking card with a tiny bit of paper loss is going to get you an SGC 10 and you might be better off selling it raw.

Thanks for all of the great advise and PMs.
Here is my game plan for all of those who did not PM me. With all of the feedback I have received and a lot of people all wanting the same cards. I have decided to get them all graded by SGC (they are giving me a great deal) and putting them on Ebay. I am getting them all graded because I want to preserve them regardless of condition and to make me feel better. I just hate handling them. I am sending them off to get graded on Jul 21st. I soon as I get them back I will post them all for sell that Saturday. I am going to start every one of them @ $0.99 with no reserve. I’ll keep you posted. Thanks, Dan |
