I've not seen it appear this way before, and where's the "Lou"?

It says "L Gehrig"; the pen skipped. This was removed from a 1938 Who's Who in Baseball originally in an REA auction a year or two ago. Thus far, this style of signature can seemingly be pinpointed to 1937-38, with strong emphasis on the latter year. Every definitively dated example I've encountered is from that timeframe.

Was mine - auctioned off a few months ago 1300.00 net - bottom feed auction - like many others - later autograph nice steel tip pen - i'd burn my stuff before consigning again
