If you had a NM PSA 7 and SGC 84 of the same card. Which would be more valuable and what would be the differance in value.

9 times out of 10 PSA would bring more money. It depends on the card though really, as this is a loaded question....

There is no set formula nor does PSA or SGC always outsell the other. The lower the population of a card the more likely it is it sells for more in PSA but this is not even a 100% rule.

There's no doubt that SGC is the better company, but because the PSA registry has been around a lot longer & has more collectors in its registry, PSA will sell for a little more money.

On average, in the high grade, PSA is tougher than SGC on centering, with all
other standards being equal. Therefore, PSA cards in high grade will more often be worth more than SGC ones. However, if the SGC card is well centered in its holder, than the cards will be more of equal value, with the caveat of the PSA registry still giving PSA cards a slightly better advantage. Saying that, SGC tends to be more consistent with its grading, so you'll also more often see a PSA card that is over-graded in its holder. |

Definitely psa. I have alot of psa 7's and alot of sgc 84 t206s. Sgc graded cards consistantly bring lower prices.

If you are talking about 1960's - present cards, at the grade level that drives registry guys crazy, then maybe. If you are talking about vintage cards, I think their prices are comparable.

I'm sure they will be drawing quite a bit of interest. Undoubtedly, they will belong to he with the most discretionary income.

You want a recent example?
This week on eBay the same seller had 2 different 1915 CJ Sam Crawfords that sold via auctions that ended a few minutes apart. One was an SGC 60=5 that looked a lot better than the grade. The other was a nice PSA 6 (though it had some weirdness on the reverse). The cards went for almost the same price (so much for the PSA "advantage").
