Great picture of the crowd outside of Cleveland's League Park circa 1910 at today's Shorpy website. Also attached is a similarly themed photo of Forbes Field.

Great photos David, but you need to post larger scans!

Wow, what great clarity in the photos. What in the world is in the suitcase heading to Forbes Field and among those newspapers along the curbs there are probably about $11 grand in old programs and ticket stubs!

Those are the original sized photos as posted on Shorpy and that's the beauty of them in that you get such great detail and clarity. I expect Leon will come along and resize them but then a lot of the aforesaid virtues will be diminished. One can then go to www.shorpy.com and look at them I suppose, but you would run the risk of spending hours looking at the ton of other great old photos posted there.

Wow, What photography!
Max, Bottom R of your browser, you may be able to zoom out. This allows you to keep the detail razor sharp. |

The photos are great and wonderful. The large scans do not bother me, and let's keep Leon on the card side as much as possible.... ![]() ![]()

Both great photo's. Being from Cleveland, I find the League Park especially nice. I may pick up a print of that one sometime down the road.

Just noticed this link in the Shorpy comments to a page that tells about the remnants of League Park that still stand. Undoubtedly already known to you Clevelanders and other better informed folks but it was news to me. I thought it was very cool. Wish they had done the same with other dearly departed ballparks instead of wiping them off the map.

In regards to the first picture, is that a pile of horse dung those two guys are about to walk into?
Great pictures. |

Affirmatory. I would imagine that was an everyday hazard a century ago.
