Default Football Pin Display

Hey guys,

After looking at the many pin displays shown on net54 over the past year or so, I had been trying to figure out how to best display my Philadelphia Eagles pin collection. Nothing really valuable, and nothing pre-war, with a couple dating to WWII era, and dating to as late as the 1980s, but it one of the many type of Eagles collectables that I try to pick up any that I don't have. I used to have them displayed in butterfly/riker cases, and had them hung on the wall, but they weren't firm enough to hang very easily.
Recently my dad picked up a large antique 40 inch by 30 inch frame that had corkboard in it. He painted the gold frame black for me and the corkboard green for me. I then screwed in the tiniest hook eyes I could find, and individually pinned each pin into place. I am very happy with the outcome, and am happy to get the pin collection up on the wall and out of storage.

Very cool display! Kudos to your Dad for painting the corkboard
green -- it makes the perfect backdrop. Collections like that are
meant to be displayed. Thanks for posting.

Well done!!! I love seeing pinback collections.

Couldn't you stick the pins into the cork and save yourself the step of adding the hooks?

Thanks for posting

Thanks guys.
Mike, I did try that first, and some of the pins didn't stick in well, and with a 2 year old running around the house, I didn't want him to be able to pull them out easily. With the hooks, even though it took a while to screw them all in, most them are sort of locked onto the hookeye.

Default Philly Pins...

Those look great! I love the green. I recently did a similar thing with my better Disney's. My six year old daughter has already claimed them as her own someday so I figured they may as well be on her wall and as you said, out of drawers where they aren't as appreciated.
