This auction with a fuzzy scan just ended. I took one of the seller's card scans and just ran some very common macros against it. The results were kind of scary. This shows just how easy it is to enhance card scans. (This guy needs a new scanner).

I was a little afraid to open this thread. Based on the title I thought it was going to be something along the lines of those Enzyte commercials on TV.

![]() Does he need a new scanner, or is that the way the card really looks? These days, yes, any image can be made to look much better with minimal effort. Last edited by timzcardz; 11-30-2011 at 10:05 AM. Reason: typos |

No reason to enhance a Johnson if you already got a PSA 8 or better.

Only a slightly more serious note: Often when I take a photo (I own a camera not a scanner) the item looks different than the original in my hand (man, that sounds graphic). I have to enhance the photo just to make the item look like real. Now you know why the have those color bars at the bottom of some proofs. To check if the colors are genuine or off. If every eBay seller put a color bar in the photos, we could tell who's fooling who. As a photo collector, my problem are sellers who have slightly off focus images of photos. There's no way you can tell how clear in the picture until you receive it. Last edited by drc; 11-30-2011 at 12:38 PM. |

![]() It works that the printers have a genuine, true color color bar and they can compare it side by side to the printed one to check colors. It gives them an absolute, objective way to check colors. Last edited by drc; 11-30-2011 at 12:59 PM. |
