Its 1920 and Mr. Sunday is an x-ballplayer, preacher and the starter of the prohibition era.

This post card has a 1911 postmark on it, the sender said she would be hearing him speak that night, in Jacksonville, IL.
![]() And that's a nice autograph up there! Last edited by FrankWakefield; 09-11-2010 at 10:09 PM. |

I live in his home town, there is a museum to Billy Sunday
http://www.villageatwinona.com/billy-sunday-home.asp I think the only time I visited it, they had a couple cards. Also, a block away is the Presbyterian church he attended. They have a small memorablia collection in the church (or did). |

I have a few postcards. Had prohibition "took" on America, Billy Sunday would be seen as one of the most important people in our nation's history.

My family vacations in Winona Lake every summer and has ever since I can remember. We still maintain a house out on the lake (out on the peninsula beyond what used to be the swan pond by the Rodeheaver Auditorium). Small world. I remember Winona in its hayday (when Moody was there every summer), then when it went downhill after it left, and now, after it was rebuilt. Many great memories from that town. I've thought of picking up one of "Silly Bunday's" OJs for nostalgia purposes, but never have. |

I'd love to see the old timey ball games played there. We are typically there around the 4th of July (at least the past several years), run in the Firecracker 5k, enjoy the festivities and the fireworks. Any chance they play any of those ball games around the 4th? |

A quick mention that Billy Sunday has five different poses in the Old Judge set. All five would first appear in 1887 with Chicago and all five would be re-issued in 1889 with Pittsburgh.
