Just curious, when i see either a PSA graded set, or a collection of PSA graded cards, how do you determine the value of that set? Do you simply add all the cards together based on SMR price? Do you factor in the grading fee ($10 per card)? Any additional premium to tag on the item because the set is complete?

no, no, and maybe.

Unfortunately complete sets usually sell for less than the sum of the individual cards, that's been my experience and that is why I usually sell prewar sets card by card. I know it doesn't make any sense because it doesn't take in to account all the sweat and toil and patience and work in putting a set together but that's just what I've found out.

agreed, unless it's a really, really rare set that completing card by card could be next to impossible - then I could see a higher demand for the complete set vs the individual cards.

enter the grades into vcp, that will give you a pretty good idea.
I've had really good luck selling sets intact, when you figure in the costs and time even if it goes for a bit less it's still worth it. |

when buying a group you have to be educated to know if there is a low pop common or key card amongst them. the price will be above average for that.
i am not a believer in SMR for pricing, however, the psa pop report can be helpful in determining what cards could bring a premium. |

Is there a website that store historical transactions of PSA graded set? VCP only provides sale price of each individual card, right?
