Default Its Been a Rare Back Week

5 Days and 4 Rare Backs Later.. my bank account is exhausted!

Figured I would show the pics/prices because I am curious if these prices are considered above or below the going market value right now..

Also I know that at least one of these cards was a fellow board members.. so Thanks for the help in getting closer to completing my back set.

Brown Lenox PSA 1 Price $2,360
Black Lenox GD condition, Price $360
Red Hindu SGC 10 Price $470
Brown Hindu SGC 20 Price $198

worth noting that the brown lenox which looked faded black to me.. comes with a letter signed from SGC stating that if crossed over.. would recieve the brown lenox label..

Without that letter I would have probably not bid on this lot.

Thanks Jim...

I see no records of Brown Lenox sales in the vcp...

Any thought on what market value is on this card in PR-FR condition.

I cant find a similar sale anywhere. So I have no idea if I was overpaying for the card.

Thanks

I thought you got a really good price on it. Although a few have been available in the last few months, it could easily be the case that we won't see another at auction for several years. Before last year, I don't remember ever seeing one at auction. I think 3k is a good price in fr/pr. Not being in a holder saved you some money imho.

Hey Jim,

Not sure I follow.. not in a holder? it is in a psa 1 holder.. it was the black lenox that was raw.

the brown is a great pickup. It is much tougher than Lenox black. Although there may be a few more of these out there than are realized because the brown is so dark and hard to tell unless you have it next to a black.

Once you know what you are looking at you will be able to see them when everyone else is in question.

This is the second one that appeared on ebay in the last few months that was in question and both were clearly brown in my eyes. Both turned out to be true brown and also reviewed by SGC.

There have only been around 10 or 12 of these auctioned in the last 10 years.

it was one of my toughest backs to obtain.

Hey Jim

Wow yours is really nice. Clean back!

Thanks for the info.

I'm curious.. When did you get your brown back lenox and how much did you pay for it at the time... If you don't mind sharing.

Jamie

Johnny/Barry

thanks guys.. there were many nights searching for affordable backs before landing on these 4... kind of funny how they all ended up being available in the same week... im fairly strict with price and have to pass up lots of stuff.. but these ones seemed fair to me.. I wasnt even planning on the black lenox.. but it had 0 bids at $340 ...with only 10 seconds to go.. so i bid.. it was a good week. on to the next challenge.. Uzit!
