I mentioned this in the other thread and it was mentioned briefly in posts by a few other members, but did not receive enough attention to satisfy my curiosity. Obviously there has been plenty of discussion and posts on the T202 Lord/Tannehill that (possibly) depicts Jackson sliding in to third.
I have the same question about the T202 Baker/Collins "Baker Gets His Man" card. Is it Joe in this picture? I am not almost positive or certain or anything of the like, but I do see a resemblance to Joe and the Lord/Tannehill card. What is your opinion? I will also add a poll to gauge some sort of statistic for the muddled opinions that might follow. Please understand that I am simply asking here, I have no certainty and I am not claiming anything as 100% correct. ![]()

That's definitely Joe's butt. You can tell by the dirt on his pants from his last slide...not sure what he's doing coaching third.

Please,
I was not asking for sarcasm. I just wanted peoples' honest opinion on the image of the baserunner. If you could supplement your vote in the poll with reasoning here below I would appreciate it!

I think everyone is to burnt out on the last T202 to even think about it. I would do what Greg did and start looking for that photo !!

Although that runner could be Joe and I realize the poster was serious, Geno's post made me laugh so hard I spilled my drink, and it was grape juice, I have a white shirt..it was worth it!

I feel very confident that this is not Shoeless Joe. The Nap in this photo doesn't have the thin, gangly build of Joe.
Here's a blow-up of the picture: ![]() Steve |

What was the opinion on Schaefer on First (Mcbride/milan)? That guy has the same sock...what could make it clearer than that?

To me this one looks more like Ivy Olson or somebody else other than Joe. When I discovered Joe on the other card it was because every time I looked at the set it just struck me as him without having to over-think it, but that's not the case with this one or any of the other Cleveland player center panels.
Update: The "Schaffer On First" card also appears to feature Joe (and is the only other one in the set besides "Lord Catces His Man"), but I don't believe the card listed above is. Last edited by brett; 06-03-2010 at 09:18 AM. |

Looks like the head on the Nap runner was added to somebody else's body . . . it's tiny. Not a lot bigger than his hand in the picture. The A's players look "normal."

We have a brand new member of Net54baseball.com that is an expert on Joe Jackson. Maybe he will chime in for us?

Under the loop, it has been ascertained that Jesus Christ is holding a beer in the center field bleachers. This is the only known issue of Jesus and promises to be your last chance to own a card of "the fisher of men" at this price point.
