Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris store model bats
Hello! I recently picked up these two bats at a local antique shop and I'm just trying to get some more information about them.
The Maris bat is 34" long and the Mantle bat is 32" long. The Maris bat is considerably darker and the wood grain pattern is a lot more defined than the Mantle bat. The Maris bat is also larger all over - knob, handle and barrel. The Maris bat is in great condition, but the Mantle bat shows heavy use. Both bats are cracked. Please see the pictures for the markings. The knob of the Mantle bat is stamped 'MMS2' and the Maris bat is stamped '4.' Can anybody provide any information on them? Year they were made? Value? Other? Thanks!
