Does anyone else out there wish that there were great memorabilia books on other sports like football? The Congdon-Martin BASEBALL TREASURES book, THE SMITHSONIAN BASEBALL BOOK and even the Halper catalogs provide great color photography and hours of enjoyment.
The early football memorabilia displays great color and imagery especially on programs and pennants. The only comparable books I have found are Tom Rudebusch's INSIDE THE PROGRAM two volume set covering the history of college football game programs. Great photos and information. I would think hockey would offer the same. Of course I guess that brings about the bigger question. Why baseball? Don't get me wrong I love baseball, just curious. |
