Hello,
I have several Dietsche Postcards and have had several sets over the years. The SCD states "The players last name usually appears on the front" ![]() Happy Easter Chris |

There was a 1908 set in the recent Lipsett auction. I have a complete set of 1907, & there are no names on the front of those. I really like all of the Dietsche postcards.

Hi Chris
I have a couple of the 1908-09 Dietsche Tigers. Some of the players who appeared in the 1907 series also have a 1908 card. About the only way to tell the difference is that the player's name is written on the front on the 1908 card. The pose and the write up on the back are exactly the same (at least the ones I have are). Also, the 1908-09 cards for players who joined the team during those years do have the players name written on front. If you are really interested, Old Cardboard, Issue 8, has a pretty exhaustive article on the Dietsche issues. The last I looked, back copies are still available for purchase. BTW, I do have a Cobb Fielding. I got it from Calvindog as a hand me down when he upgraded to his EX copy. Unfortunately it is not for sale ![]() |

That is a great card, but I've always thought that his shadow was bizarre and even impossible to the point of being distracting. Is there any way that shadow could happen that way?

Joann - I never thought about the shadow, I always wondered what was laying on the ground. My guess is that it is Cobb's warm up sweater??
