Picked this postcard up recently and have questions as to what time period is it from and who does it picture? I don't have much knowledge about older baseball players and have seen numerous threads here when question who is pictured on different postcards/photos so I figured I would post my questions & pics here and see what you folks think. Maybe it's not even a period piece and not worth the paper it's printed on?

Can't help you with the pc's, but I was wondering if you own a 66 Cuda. I loved the old Barricuda's. They were much nicer than the Mustangs.

I can't help you with the player. Based on the stamp box, however, the PC was produced between 1904 and 1918. I have a minor league PC (no scan readily available) with the same stamp box, but I've had no luck identifying the player.

Unfortunately, this real photo pc depicts a high schooler (most likely) or one of the millions of ameteur ballplayers that played in the early part of the 1900's. The player is of the right age to be a high school ballplayer.

Pretty sure it's a young Josh Gibson. Just look at the ears.

You're right. Now that I look at it, it's definitely Joe Jackson. Or Ty Cobb. One of those two.

I guess those were attempts at humor....., when the original poster was trying to get some legit help on his postcard.

I think you guys underestimate Ryan's ability to spot Josh Gibson in a photo.

While Gibson isn't a bad guess, it is obviously a young Frank Baker you got there, although the ears suggest Don Mossi...remember it's all about the ears! (I couldn't resist)
