Default Providence Greys cabinet?

Hello:

Had my dad pick this up on a roll of the dice. Appears to the a real photo mounted on a post 1900 back. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Toby

I asked Leon if I could use his quarter.

Toby---From the scan it doesn't appear to be a photo, maybe a copy of a photo. Is it an albumen print (similar to the surface of an Old Judge card under a loop) or is it dot matrix printing?

Nice, Toby. What's the year, 1885?

Default grays

Jay,

No matrix. Similiar to an old judge with some silverly look to it.

Phil, 1885 and it is the 1884 starting 9

As I told Toby in an email, it concerns me a bit because of the mount. That's a style you see around 1905, so it's either a period photo that was remounted, or simply a later print, maybe made as some kind of commemorative. Would have to have it in hand to provide a better answer. Good composite of the team, however.
