how tough a card is it?? Is there a reason no Red Sun in pop report or registry or am I looking in the wrong place?? Card I got is raw , with a couple of fairly major creases--probably a PSA 2 if graded...value?? thanks for any info and since some collectors look for Jewish ball players , I assume Cohen is Jewish--he even looks a little like the rabbi in our nearby synagogue!!!

There are very few of any of the players that have been graded. Red Suns are hard to find in nice shape; almost all have creases for some reason. A PSA 2 of any card would be worth around $500 I would say. Perhaps a bit more if its the only one graded.

SGC's pop report shows three graded Cohen's-- a 10, 30 and 40.

We have collected ultra rare type cards in high grades for more than 35 years.
Whilst grading has only been fashionable for the past 15 years or so, we have always found the T 211 Red Sun cards among the most difficult to obtain in a high grade. The best example in our collection is an SGC 80 of La Fitte Has anyone ever seen an SGC 84 or 92 or a PSA 8 example? Bruce Dorskind America's Toughest Want List Bdorskind@dorskindgroup.com |

I'm pretty sure Red Suns are tough to find in any grade. Add that to the fact that cards that are 100 years old generally tend to be tough in high grade; the ramification is just more acute when the sample size is smaller.

The LaFitte is the highest graded example shown by SGC, with no 70s and one 60. Truly a nice example--would love to see a scan. BTW, I chuckle at the thought of a man named La Fitte playing for New Orleans and being shown on a New Orleans tobacco card, as of course famed pirate Jean Lafitte used to set up shop in and around New Orleans. Now if there were just a T215 Pirate Lafitte, that would be more than just a little ironic.

Re : Harry Cohen of the Nashville Vols...
There are a total of 5 graded. (2 PSA, 3 SGC) - Red Sun's average range of cards graded is around 2-3 examples of each player. While Cohen's number is double the average, it is still a rare card. All of the T211's are rare. Price range on a Grade 2 is around $400-$500...

I don't believe he's Jewish. Maybe he is. Who knows.
