Default 1939-46 Salutation Exhibit CARDINALS Checklist?

I am in need of a 1939-46 Salutation Exhibit CARDINALS Checklist. I already have the Joe Medwick. While I'm at it, if anybody has any in low grade I would be interested.

Mainly, I'm posting for a checklist. Thanks.

Thanks, Randy. I looked in the database you sent me a few years ago, but I did not see the Salutation Exhibits. You must have updated it since you sent it to me.

I probably sent you the post war database then. I would have the 1947-66 Exhibit Cardinals in it. I also have a prewar database of Cardinals from 1892-1947. Need it?

If possible, I'd like to have that information.

Thanks.

Although most folks don't think of him as a Cardinal, Lon Warnecke played with the team from 1937 to 1942. Although he did return to the Cubs later, I believe he was a Cardinal when his Exhibit was issued ...

Hi Chris, there are several Exhibit Salutation Warneke's on Ebay right now. I can't post one here for some reason. I recall having trouble deciding what uniform he was wearing on that card. Can anybody post the card? Is he a Cub or Cardinal?

David, send me your e-mail and I'll send you the database tonight. It is just Cardinals, is that what you are looking for? Randy

The jersey and cap featured on the Warneke Exhibit were clearly painted over by the Exhibit card artist when the card was created. You'd have to find the original photo to know for sure. But when the Salutation Exhibits were released in 1939, Warneke was one of the Cardinals' best pitchers, and he continued to be for the next few years before fading. I wouldn't be surprised if the original photo was taken back in the early 30s when he was with the Cubs. By the way, he was a very underrated pitcher. Try comparing his stats to those of Lefty Gomez and you'll be surprised ... they're almost the same!
