It's the 1927 York Caramel base set!
There are several variations which I may or may not chase, and I've got a few Type2's but E210-1 is complete! Many thanks along the way to Scot York, David York, Mark Macrae and David Bryan who somehow made these available at the same time I had a few bucks available! I have almost half of the cards SGC graded. I am not overly concerned with high grades. I might upgrade a few of them over time, but not until I bask in my personal glee. I have 9 more in Parsippany this week so I hope to have them all shown soon. Here's the link below: http://www.sgccardregistry.com/set.a...4&userset=4077 How many other York collectors are out there?

Congrats Brian! One of the many rare and under appreciated 1920s issues. I enjoy the one line description of each player on the backs.

Congrats Brian!
I'm sure it is a great feeling...something I don't seem to get to do often as I always go for the sets that are nearly impossible (E254, early Zeenuts, etc.)! -Rhett

What were the last cards you added? Are there any you're especially glad you picked up when you could? Bill |

but that is a really odd thing for them to put on the back of Tris Speaker's card...

Birdman,
Thanks for the support! Well I guess I could say they are all tough... Walter Johnson seems to be rarer than say, Babe Ruth, where you just need a lot of money to get the Sultan of Swat into the fold. Ralph Perkins is in this set...I hadn't even heard of him previously...and maybe his cards were throw out quicker than the more famous cards. I don't see him too often. If I am counting right, 31 of the 60 cards are HOFers. That's the main reason I wanted to collect the set. I have delapitated versions of a couple cards that I bought only because A.) I prefer low grades B.) I wanted to cross it off the list, in case I didn't see another for awhile! My last two were Bucky Harris and Emory Rigney. I wanted to end my quest with a common (again, these aren't found every day like some T206's, so common is relative...) And to answer another poster, ClaytonT206...my next main quest will be completing my dumb idea to acquire all of the T206 HOFers, and the few 33 Goudey HOFers I don't have yet. Somebody bring me to my senses!

Jeff, thanks for posting the Type 2 (e210-2) Cobb...I have never seen the back. Notice the different text (I call it the tag line) Very Cool!!
I have just a couple Type 2's and brother, they are tough! Try getting your hands on the Gehrig card...it's not in the Type 1 set. (My wallet just said "Thank you"...out loud!) I think avoiding the Type 2's would be a good financial decision, but I do like these cards , so I won't rule it out. Umm...Nurse, Where does the therapy line begin?
