A truly remarkable bb card/memorabilia collection

Whilst we have been fortunate to view countless world class baseball card and memorabilia collections including Sir Edward Wharton-Tigar, Barry Halper, Lew Newman, Corey Shanus, Jerry Taylor, Bill Heitman, Mike Berkus...to name a few. And we have had the good fortune of spending many hours researching the collections at the Boston and New York Public Libraries, Negro League Museum as well as the Burdick collection in the print room at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, we believe that the Library of Congress Collection of baseball images, memorabilia and cards is second only to the Hall of Fame Collection (only a fraction of which is on public display_

We think it is one of the two best baseball card/memorabilia books ever to come to press. Our all time favorite remains Douglas-Congon-Martin and John Kasmanian's 1992 book- "Baseball Treasures" Memories from the National Pastime.

Bruce,I have met you in person at least2 dozen times in the past 30 years and actually find you very interesting and a regular guy. I first met you at a card show in Manhatten about 1978 and have seen you on the NYC-Willow Grove circut and the occassional National I have attended mostly in New Jersey and whenever we talked you were always great with sharing information. It seems to me that when you respond on this board many feel you are pompous and eccentric when in reality you are not. Just a suggestion but maybe you should be yourself and just be "one of the guys" when posting on the board. The Hobby needs more guys with your knowledge and I just get the feeling talking to friends who don,t know you that they think you are a little wierd. As someone who has actually spenttime with you I think you give yourself a bad rap since you are aces in my book. Bruce what I mean is that I cringe whenever I see a post of yours saying We this or that. I just want the board to know that you are a great guy. Happy Holidays! CN

Merry Christmas, Bruce. Thanks for drawing the connection on these two great books. I was fortunate to get the Baseball Americana book for Christmas. I have also admired the National Treasures book for some time, but haven't added this to my reference library. With so many baseball books out there, it's nice to have a recommendation to cut through the clutter. I will find a copy of the National Treasures book to add to my library in 2010.
