I don't post here too often, but I thoroughly enjoy the pictures.
What do you guys have to show of my White Sox? I'll start with my 1938 Jimmy Austin coaches jersey. You can see more on Jimmy Austin and my jersey at my website - http://www.freewebs.com/karamaxjoe/j...stinjersey.htm Mike |

An early teens Chisox Pennant... a huge one measing 40" in length!
This came from an early folk art patchwork quilt in a sale/trade combo from Forum member (and veterinarian) Keith J, who expertly removed all the stitching. It came out looking great - thanks again, Keith! |

Max, I always wanted one of those mirrors and had my chance but passed. I regret it now. Is it very heavy?
Here's a couple of mine.

Six weeks earlier and less than a mile from home plate, I made my debut at Michael Reese Hospital. Didn't make the game.

The mirror is quite heavy. It's about 18" x 18". I've seen a couple of others of these around. One had the gorgeous patina removed and had a bright shiny finish (yipes). Mine has lost its hooks on the four corners, but it actually looks pretty good without them. Here's a few other White Sox items: Commy dust jacket, Jennifer's Cicotte, and a Sporting Life White Sox booklet ![]() ![]() ![]() David: born a mile from home plate? In the center field bleachers thus? :-) Last edited by baseballart; 10-18-2009 at 02:29 PM. |

Thanks for all your posts. I really like the White Sox March Sheet Music and the 1906 Medal. Hopefully someday I could add those to my collection.

This is probably the most gorgeous (and outrageously well preserved) pre-war uniform we've ever auctioned here at Heritage. It was worn by star catcher Muddy Ruel as a ringer for the Chicago White Sox on the 1924 Baseball Tour of Europe. Interesting factoid about Ruel: he was the catcher when Ray Chapman was fatally beaned in 1920, and when Ruth hit his sixtieth homer of 1927. The Forrest Gump of backstops, always a part of baseball history!

Faber didn't play in the 1919 series due to injury, but I often wonder if he would have been one of the boys and taken the money if healthy.

Richard, I love the newpaper centerfold. I picked up a copy in the late 80's created from the original plates. I think they created 1,000 and then broke the plates, but I'd rather have one of the originals
