Im at a loss here. Are people THAT well off that they can just flush money down the john? Why would anyone bid on this? Please explain the mindset of a bidder or multiple ones in this case. Thanks.

I think the answer is fairly obvious. Remember what the assistant to the travelling secretary of the New York Yankee's once said: "Remember Jerry, if YOU believe it, it is true"

"Wonder if there's any vigilantes in there, I miss the days when we could see screennames. Was good comedy watching these people's listings light up with names like stopthefakeautos and whatnot."
My favorite vigilante was always "stewpdazzo." |

I found this Baseball in a box of things I bought at an auction. I didn't know it was worth that much. Send that buyer my way.

There are several other "questionable" autos on there, for Ruth and a couple Bad Ruth and Gehrig "cuts". I report stuff, and often, its deleted. I guess they get lax sometimes, and don't bother with everything.

In the past, when you could read the names of the Ebay bidders, some people would create an Ebay ID solely for bidding on "bad" auctions.
As noted, one of the best was "stewpdazzo" (say it out loud.) Stew was the winning bidder on many auctions, but eventually, Ebay shut him down. I'm pretty sure stew is still on this board... somewhere. |

If you check out the seller's other items, it turns out he has only one other thing for sale, a Colgan's Chip of Honus Wagner for $50,000. If someone really wants to flush some cash down the john, here's a great opportunity ...
