What's the deal with the Red Man Tobacco posters?

Can these all be assumed to be repros or was there a large cache found?

I spotted these a couple months back and can be 99.99% sure they're repros. One of the big auction houses sold one of these a year or two ago and I believe it hammered in the 1k range. I also believe the size on these are smaller than the real deal. One dude was selling the repro signed by Ralph Kiner for $30.

Yes, these are reproductions. I bought one several year ago just to display with my Redman's and they are very nice on heavy cardboard. The real ads are costly and more fragile.

BUT......do not pay more than $10 each.

Yes, the originals are paper and I've heard most of the reprints are on cardboard. The originals can be found in high grade, as there was a find of a bunch of unused ones.

I won a small stack of originals in a Mastro Auction a number of years back.

Glad to hear that. I bought a high grade paper Johnny Mize awhile back from a fellow board member, and he also mentioned the find.

For the price I'd say they're still pretty cool display items.
