Topps 1954 Scoops Advice...Calling all wannabe Card Doctors..

Does anybody have any advice (prior experience) on how to get the "black stuff" off the Topps 1954 Scoops Babe Ruth card??? After 50+ years, "the black stuff" cannot be rubbed-off without damaging the card. Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

By the way, I am not going to take it off the Feller card; since I think its kind of cool due to the almost readable original text.....:
