factory ink marks,haven't seen any without them,any more examples? i think the 57 piersall has a red ink line on some but it is not on the one in my collection.

You'll find some of the Jim Nash and Jim Northrup cards issued with and without "blobs" on the cards.

And this is a serious question for another Jim (Crandell) -- Jim; since the blobs are part of the print of the card -- and there is frankly a good chance that one of those type of cards would be a PSA 8 or better -- would you collect those cards yourself. I want to stress this is not a leading question -- just a question about what you think of eye appeal of a card
