Charles Hanford's contract for his 1914 season with the Buffalo Buffeds of the Federal League. This contract for $3,000 has been signed in black ink by Hanford in three different places (d.1963). The front of the contract has also been signed by Federal League president James Gilmore. The contract is in solid shape. There is some slight wear around the corners and edges. This item is accompanied by an LOA from James Spence Authentications.
Hanford played 2 years in the majors.
Position: Left Fielder.
Debuted on April 13th, 1914 (Babe Ruth debuted in 1914).
In 1915 Charles played for the Chicago Whales.
In 1914, he batted .291 in 155 games. 597 at bats, 83 runs, 174 hits (28 doubles, 13 triples, 12 HRs) 90 RBI's, 37 stolen bases. .442 SLG.
Charles Hanford died on July 19, 1963 in Trenton, NJ.
