'Guide to Sports Photographs' by David Rudd Cycleback, Hamerweit Books. 8x11, 120 pages, paperback. Field guide for beginning to advanced collectors, dealers, auctioneers and historians. Covers photos 1800s to today, tintypes to cabinet cards, panoramas to Polaroids, wirephotos to real photo postcards, movie photos to obscurities (ivorytypes, opaltypes, etc). Topics include dating, identification, identifying originals, reprints an fakes. Illustrated in black and white. The book incorporates much of the photographic info from 'Judging the Authenticity of Photographs,' so if you already have the 'Judging the Authenticity' book it's not needed to also buy this.
