Question on 1964 Topps...
Posted By: Jason L
on the reverse, there is a blank white box at the bottom where an answer to a question is revealed if you rub it with a coin...if that box is rubbed, does it or should it affect the grade? |

Question on 1964 Topps...
Posted By: Paul S
My understanding is that if it is truly rubbed off (like with a coin), then it will affect the grade, although I am unclear by how much value wise. There is a difference between that and some that have sort of partly "worn" off, for reasons such as being stored unprotected next to other cards. Those kind of look like the white has sort of faded a bit and you can see the print underneath begin to emerge -- looks like a coat of primer paint which hasn't completely covered the undercoat. I have several hundred like that (the latter) and if I remember correctly I don't think that affects value very much, if at all, unless you are going for a card that would otherwise grade a PSA 8 or up. |

Question on 1964 Topps...
Posted By: Jason L
I was curious because I have 2 cards that are SGC graded, one is a 7, the other is a 7.5...the 7 has it totally rubbed offf and the whole answer is exposed, while the 7.5 is still blank. interesting. |

Jason, no prob! Hard to say whether my reply was applicable to your cards or not. If the difference in grade was that small on your two cards then I think that's pretty good deal to be downgraded by that small amount. |
