Default New hobby product by young collector

I was at one of many graduation party this last week when a young man I’ve known for years started talking cards with me. Then he dropped a little bomb that he came up with and got a patent for a ((top loader cap)) to help store cards. He showed me a few photos that I thought “Wow, what a simple but ingenious product. I told him I’m a customer and bought 100 of them or 2 packages. They work great.

What do you guys think?

I’m impressed with any kid/young person that can come up with a new idea and follow it to through.

It's interesting, but I'm not sure if it's needed because cards don't fall out of semi-rigid toploaders like Cardsavers. What is the need for this product? Why would you use this instead of a cardsaver? Price point?

Agree with all your saying. We as collectors like to stay organized and present or display card cards. This product does that and anything to help protect cards better that get handled a lot can’t be all bad. Price was $6.50 for 50 of them.

Note: these photos are from the product inventor with his collection, I’m a prewar collector for the most part.

I applaud his ingenuity and hope it takes him further into developing products for our hobby. More specifically, I would like something to improve the pocket pages in a way that makes them less likely to curl or bend-- maybe a bottom "cap" that would hold the page more erect or sturdy. I also wouldn't mind the sheets being enlarged just a bit. I like to put my cards in penny sleeves and then those inside the sheets--they seem to move around less and can be handled/removed more frequently with less fear of damage. Unfortunately, I like to use the vintage size penny sleeves, which barely fit in an 8 pocket sheet (no chance on the 9 pockets), because they are easier to pluck out without fear of the card sliding and being exposed. I can't believe that the sheets could not be improved or that this would cost much at the design and manufacturing level.

Back to your young entreprenuer though. I would use his product, and don't believe they are superfluous or unnecessary. Maybe you have a link please?

I got my 2pack order direct from this young man. But here is his order information. It’s a P.O. Box in Omaha.
