Sorry if this (Slightly OT)topic has already been explored. Last fall I visited Newport and was surprised to find what some consider one of the oldest (if not the oldest) ballpark in America. Originally called Basin Field, apparently it was renamed after WW1 for the late Newport ballplayer named Bernardo Cardines. |

Funny, they state 1908, but others think pre 1900. I guess there is no proof in that. |
