Take a look at this Ted Williams 1939 Play Ball. The card is absolutely authentic. Experts will quickly see that a name exists where it normally does not. It looks as if it were typed (old-school type writer) but that is highly unlikely. There are no indentations on front or back, rolled effects, nor any bleeding. It is so nicely done that it looks like it could have been done at the factory. Has anyone seen others from this set? Was there some type of "test issue" or "prototype" card issued for this release? I would like to get the thoughts of some of the vintage experts on the board in regards to this and appreciate any opinions. |
