Default Question about mapleleafcollectibles?

Posted By: Ken Wirt

Hey Guys,

Has anyone ever had any dealings with an ebayer named Steve Berman whose ebay ID is mapleleafcollectibles (from Ontario)? I am interested in an ungraded card he has up for auction, but when I asked him if he provided a money-back guarantee that the card was authentic, he refused. Probably won't take the chance, but thought someone might have some insight. Thanks.

Ken

Ken - I bought a few raw play balls from him and they were authentic. His scanned images were a little blurry and therefore it was a little difficult to gage condition.

I always have a problem if someone won't guarantee something as authentic.....even IF IT'S AUTHENTIC.....
I am a bit skeptical with no guarantee too...

Not sure if I am confusing him with another dealer or not, but if he is from Gananoque, ON then you are probably safe. A few years back I bought some non-sports cards from him (maybe) sight unseen and then were just as described. Hope this helps.

like 10 years ago. The few transactions went fine although his grading is similar to Martin Murray. Make of that what you wish. He wouldn't sell you a reprint that wasn't listed as such....

no guarantees whether written or implied.

I've had dealings with Steve that go back a dozen years. I've always found him to be honest and above board. He has gone out of his way several times to help me find cards to finish sets. I'd certainly give him a thumbs up.

It's hard to disagree with Leon on this one. Even if people have had good dealings with him on some cards, why won't he guarantee the authenticity of this one?

I do think, after reading what others say, that the card and/or transaction would be fine. Some folks just won't guarantee anything. It's a different way to do business but isn't always bad. That's probably the way this seller is (won't guarantee anything at all)....I guarantee everything I sell, as most folks do....but to each their own...A guarantee DOES take my speticism away when it's from a good seller...

The card's been outed; you won't win it anyhow

MLC is fine; they are a high volume dealer of primarily European cards from other sports and nonsports.
